Jimmy’s family lived in a middle-class Philadelphia neighborhood, so when his dad ditched his business suit for his terry jacket, it meant something. It symbolized precious family vacations and experiences. Jimmy’s siblings all instantly recalled Dad’s terry jacket, which got Jimmy thinking how wonderful it would be to design a similar terry jacket – with modern twists for a perfect combination of comfortable and practical.

Like his other siblings, Jimmy’s dad instilled a desire to pursue higher-level education. Trained as an engineer, Jimmy started a technology company in 2005 and patented numerous inventions for biotech manufacturing. His company was instrumental in the development and production of COVID-19 vaccines and antibody treatments.

The company was sold, and Jimmy eventually decided to exit the business in early 2023.Ginger Sesame’s founding was led by the inspiration from all these memories, combined with countless hours watching enthusiastic entrepreneurs on Shark Tank. The result is a Ginger Sesame team made of experts in design, manufacturing, marketing and logistics.

The initial product is the 16 Points Terry Short Sleeve Hoodie Jacket, a comfortable terry jacket reminiscent of Jimmy’s childhood, but with enhancements for modern life - like a pocket designed to securely hold a phone even while sitting and bending.

Why the name 16 Points? It’s a nod to the 16 points on a compass, showing you can always enjoy your leisure in comfort – wherever you may go. But most of all, Ginger Sesame brings the memory of Jimmy’s dad’s beloved jacket to life.
